On Friday 21 September 2012, Broadgate Circle in the City of London will play host to Action For Kids’ fourth annual City Beach Volleyball Championships.
Action For Kids, a national children's charity needs YOU to sign up with family, friends and colleagues for this unique opportunity to take part in an exciting sport whilst raising vital funds for disabled children and young people across the UK.
Sally Bishop, Founder of Action For Kids, said: “The funds we raise from events such as this are absolutely crucial as they allow us to further help children with disabilities and learning difficulties as well as their families and carers. In tough economic times, it’s even more important that we remain in a position to support young people across London and the UK. Last year the event generated over £40,000, a target we are confident we can beat.”
Ahead of the September launch, 'In-Venue Presenter' for Beach Volleyball, Triathlon and the Marathon Swim events at the London 2012 Olympics, Zoe Hardman, taught some of the young people the rules of the game and encouraged others to join her in raising money for Action For Kids.
Throughout the week 17-20 September, Action For Kids will also be hosting a series of taster sessions to showcase the sport and encourage local schools, passersby and the young people they work with to take part. This is the perfect opportunity for everyone to get active and learn new skills after an inspiring summer of sport.
