Event Details
From designer air-raid onesies to jewellery made from aircraft parts, Fashion on the Ration at the Imperial War Museum looks at how rationing and wartime austerity impacted fashion for both men and women in 1940s Britain. It explores how the make-do-and-mend attitude resulted in a casual approach to fashion from retailers, and some ingenious recycling methods from fashion lovers.
