Film buffs and budding film makers: listen up. The Open City Documentary Festival is back for its fifth year year, and it's here to celebrate the cream of the crop of the world’s documentary filmmakers.

Taking place at a variety of venues across London, the festival will feature documentaries from British and international filmmakers. Moving across continents, from a Haggerston Estate with Estate, A Reverie, to China with Stranded in Canton, and across subject matter, from Polish immigration to the lives of chimpanzees in a Dutch rescue centre.

The festival will also be shining a spotlight on the golden age of Croatian cinema, with films including Naked Island, an investigation into the disappearance of a man and the people brought together by a political prison in ex-Yugoslavia; and The Waiting Point, which follows the everyday life at the crowded bus terminal in Rijeka.

As well as documentaries galore, there will also be awards granted to filmmakers for categories including Emerging International Filmmaker and Best UK Film Award.

We might even enrol next year, with our documentary we made about stamp collecting. Trust us, it's WAY more exciting than it sounds.
