Sport lovers: listen up. Here’s your chance to cycle from Brussels to the UK alongside members of British and Irish Lions, to raise some serious cash for charity.

The latest Ride of the Lions experience: Waterloo 200 will see 200 cycling enthusiasts join British and Irish Lions and wounded veterans to take on a historic 200-mile route from Brussels to London.

The ride will commemorate the bicentenary anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo, with riders taking the same journey that Major Henry Percy took in June 1815,  as he raced back to London with the Dispatch to declare the battle a victory.

After registering at Esher RFC, 200 cyclists will fly to Waterloo, just south of Brussels, to embark on an intrepid two-day journey. Each team will see four British and Irish Lions and a Walking With The Wounded veteran ride alongside 45 members of the public, so each cyclist will be able to experience the camaraderie of the rugby pitch while marking the legacy of the Battle of Waterloo.

Funds raised will support a further 500 wounded veterans suffering from mental injury through Walking With The Wounded’s Head Start programme.
