When it comes to all creatures great and small, Omid Golzar’s fascination certainly lies with the latter. The Iranian macro photographer traps insects alive before putting them in a fridge to make them more docile. We know – it all sounds a bit The Wasp Factory. But the results speak for themselves. Golzar shoots up to 100 images of each insect on a reverse 28mm Exakta lens that allows him “to show miracles, which can’t be seen with the naked eye.” After he’s done, the insects go free. Apart from the wasps, probably.
