A Costly Slash

I was at this corporate jolly with a whole bunch of competitors - this was back in the day when they always ended up with a big piss-up. So, me and this bloke who is my rival at another firm but who I get on with OK sit up at the bar after everyone's retired for the night. When that closes we continue boozing from the mini-bar up at his hotel room but after a few whiskies he just passes out fully-clothed in his bed. I have a slash, wash my hands and go to my own room. I wake up in the morning and go down for breakfast feeling pretty bad and there are loads of people milling around and this chap looking absolutely distraught. It turns out that he left the taps on his sink on pretty much all night (until he was woken up around 7am) and because he'd stupidly left a flannel blocking the plug hole the sink had overflown and caused damage to about 4 floors. The guy was in a terrible state, apologising profusely to the company who was hosting the jolly and clearly fearing that he was gonna lose his job when his bank found out. It was about then that I had a horrible realisation ... a sound recollection of washing my hands with a purple flannel after taking a piss. I've kept stum ever since that event and I know the bloke's left banking now. All I can say is sorry ...

Cityboy says: Freud maintains that there's no such thing as a mistake ... but I've always thought he talks gibberish. You don't need absolution, you need lessons in handling booze - keep up the good work!
