CityBird recommends a bit of Latin spirit this summer...

Inclement weather, freezing temperatures and more misery about the economy is the perfect background for the City’s latest drinking wheeze – a caipirinha deck. Yes, mincing about with a cachaca-fuelled headache really does bring back that Rio carnival spirit…

Las Iguanas in Spitalfields, the City’s Latin American outpost, has opened its caipirinha deck for the summer. Basically just an appendage in the form of a balcony to the main restaurant, the deck does provide a bit of peace and quiet from the bustle of the main market below. It’s small and exclusive, and there’s a mini-bar with beers and caipirinhas on tap.

And the best news? The original Brazilian drink is buy one get one free until 7.30 each day, and all day Monday.

Las Iguanas,
1 Horner Square,
Old Spitalfields Market,
