It's hard to moan about the stresses of being a travel writer when your job primarily involves you going on holiday. However squaremile.com did have a good old grumble when we found out that Small Luxury Hotels of the World are passing on the benefits of being a travel writer to the public without having to write those pesky articles.
That's right, they're inviting you to be part of their Special, Loved, and Honoured Club (spot the clever marketing) which rewards returning customers with complimentary stays, upgrades and access to elusive offers. And it doesn't cost anything at all to join.
It works like this: after just one stay at an SLH property Club members are upgraded from 'Special' to 'Loved', and after five further stays they become 'Honoured' members, enjoying the highest level of benefits. It's like a real relationship!
Members of the club immediately enjoy a complimentary room upgrade on your first stay (subject to availability) along with exclusive club rates, access to a private reservations consultant and the Club Concierge team.
Things soon heat up, you become Loved (aww) after just one stay. Loved members receive a complimentary continental breakfast for two and the luxury of having a late checkout; a perfect antidote to the heavy nights beforehand.
After five stays, which is hardly a challenge given the places SLH have on offer, you become Honoured, opening up the doors to the best benefits possible. On top of all the previous boons you'll have priority when it comes to room upgrades and the option for early check in. Best of all is the complimentary night's stay you'll be given as a thank you.
Club members can book online via slh.com or by calling the dedicated Club Reservations Consultants on the toll-free reservation number 0800 525 48000 or through their travel agent.
