Placing a scantily-clad model on the bonnet of a car might might not win Mercedes Benz any awards for innovative thinking, but when the car in question is a gleaming, future-facing hybrid – the GLC 350 e 4MATI – and the muse ex-Victoria's Secret model Doutzen Kroes, we think we'll let them off.

Pairing fashion with fast cars for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin for Spring/Summer 2016, the new campaign, masterminded by French fashion editor and stylist Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, features Dutch model Doutzen standing on a Mercedes-Benz in a mirage of fluffy clouds and blue skies, and pouting in a field of giant flowers. Why, we're not sure – but fashion often works in mysterious ways.

Speaking about the campaign, environmentally-conscious Doutzen said: "I am always conscious of not letting the water run and how far I drive", so it's no surprise that she's right on board with the eco-friendly SUV, which comes with a plug-in hybrid engine that can cover up to 22 miles in zero-emission all-electric mode.

The car's out in 2016, so price is still TBC, but we imagine you'll have to pay a fair bit more if you want Doutzen to grace your bonnet.
